"Our Main Player" Robertson Hopes Mohamed Salah Stays at Liverpool

Liverpool player Andy Robertson expressed his hope that Egyptian international Mohamed Salah remains with the team to continue scoring goals.

Salah scored in Liverpool’s 4-1 victory over Ipswich Town, reaching his 100th goal at Anfield. This achievement places him in seventh on the all-time Premier League scorers list with 176 goals, surpassing Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.

In comments to the club's official website, Robertson said: "We’re all trying to encourage each other. There’s still a long way to go, and many matches remain. We just need to keep pushing and hopefully stay on top."

Regarding Salah reaching his 100th goal at Anfield, Robertson added: "It’s clear to everyone that Mohamed Salah has been doing this consistently for seven and a half years."

He concluded: "Now we hope Salah continues to do so because we need our main player to keep scoring goals. However, when he doesn’t, other players step up, and that always shows the strength of a good team."

It’s worth noting that Salah’s contract with Liverpool is set to expire at the end of the 2024-2025 season.
