Argentine star Lionel Messi is set for a new preparatory tour ahead of the upcoming season with his team, Inter Miami CF. The team, which recently claimed the Supporters' Shield title, will play five matches in four different countries as part of their preparations for the 2025 season.
On Friday, the American club announced three matches to be held in South and Central America. Inter Miami will kick off their tour against Universitario de Deportes in Lima, Peru, on January 29.
The team will then head to Panama to face Sporting San Miguelito on February 2, before traveling to San Pedro Sula, Honduras, where they will play against Deportivo Olimpia on February 8.
The first and last matches of the pre-season tour were already known. Inter Miami will face Club América of Mexico in Las Vegas on January 18, before concluding their preparations with a match against Orlando City, their MLS rival, in Tampa, Florida, on February 14.
Inter Miami is set to play 34 matches in the MLS season, along with five pre-season matches and three cup tournaments. This could bring the total number of matches to 50 in a single season, excluding international matches that Messi and other Inter Miami players might participate in.
