Reports emerged on Wednesday revealing that Manchester United is nearing an agreement to sign Danish player Patrick Dorgu from Italian club Lecce during the current winter transfer window.
According to British newspaper "The Athletic," Manchester United and Lecce are only 10 million euros apart in negotiations for Patrick Dorgu, with talks ongoing to bridge the gap. The trip of United's negotiating director, Matt Hargreaves, to Italy is seen as a positive sign for the deal.
The report adds that Lecce is demanding 40 million euros for the 20-year-old player, while Manchester United is aiming to secure the transfer for 30 million euros.
Dorgu joined Lecce from Danish club FC Nordsjælland in 2022, playing 43 matches for the club and scoring five goals across all competitions. The 20-year-old has also made four appearances for the Danish national team.
Manchester United currently sits in 13th place in the Premier League standings after only two wins in their last nine matches, with coach Amorim keen to add reinforcements to his squad before the transfer deadline on February 3.
