Secret Agreement: Frankfurt Opens the Door for Marmoush's Departure

German media reports confirmed on Thursday that Eintracht Frankfurt will not stand in the way of the departure of their Egyptian star, Omar Marmoush, during the current winter transfer window.

Manchester City has identified the Egyptian international as their primary target in this transfer window after almost finalizing two signings.

Two defenders are expected to arrive at the "Etihad" Stadium, with announcements expected from Manchester City in the coming days. Abdelkader Khousanov has completed his €40 million move from Lens, and Vitor Reis has joined from Palmeiras for €35 million.

While these moves have been relatively quick, Manchester City is engaged in lengthy negotiations with Eintracht Frankfurt over Omar Marmoush, with previous reports revealing that the player has already agreed to personal terms with the English club.

The latest updates on the deal indicate that the German club rejected the first offer from Manchester City. However, new reports from German media have confirmed that Eintracht Frankfurt has no intention of blocking their standout offensive talent's move.

According to sources from the German newspaper "Bild," Omar Marmoush is still in contact with Eintracht Frankfurt's management, who assured him that they would not stand in the way of his move for a few million, but the club insists on a transfer fee exceeding €80 million, after rejecting Manchester City's offer of just under €70 million.

According to "Bild," all parties strongly believe the deal will be completed by next week at the latest. Eintracht Frankfurt expects Manchester City to submit an improved offer before their match against Borussia Dortmund on Friday, bringing it closer to the amount the German club desires.

While there were hopes that the two clubs would finalize the player's transfer by the end of this week, and that Marmoush’s match against Freiburg, played last Tuesday, would be his last with the club, it now seems unlikely.

Eintracht Frankfurt’s head coach, Dino Topmöller, confirmed during a press conference on Thursday afternoon that he intends to field the Egyptian star in the upcoming match, stating: "Omar Marmoush will play on Friday against Borussia Dortmund. He is part of my plans."

Marmoush has scored 20 goals for the German club across all competitions this season and has provided 14 assists. He has been in the starting lineup for all matches played by the "Eagles," who are currently in third place in the Bundesliga standings this month.
