Aston Villa Rejects Arsenal's Official Bid for Watkins

Fabrizio Romano, a journalist at "Sky Sports," reported on Wednesday that Arsenal has submitted an official bid to sign Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins during the current winter transfer window.

Romano wrote on his social media account, "X": "Aston Villa has today rejected an official bid from Arsenal for Ollie Watkins."

He added: "The bid, which was around £60 million, was rejected because Aston Villa is not satisfied with the timing of the offer, as it comes before a crucial Champions League match for the club."

Romano continued: "Saudi club Al-Nassr is also in active talks with Aston Villa to sign Jhon Durán."

Arsenal has been linked with moves for Benjamin Å eÅ¡ko, DuÅ¡an Vlahović, and Victor Osimhen, but the club is now focusing on signing Aston Villa's striker, Watkins.

Mikel Arteta, Arsenal’s head coach, is keen to secure a new striker before the winter transfer window closes on Monday night, following Gabriel Jesus’ season-ending injury earlier this month.
