A report released today, Wednesday, stated that Barcelona's player, Ronald Araujo, has reached an agreement with the club regarding the extension of his contract.
Araujo has been part of Barcelona's first team since 2020, and his current contract is set to expire in June 2026.
Araujo returned to action with Barcelona last December when he was included in the team’s squad to face Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League, marking his first appearance after a 156-day absence due to a hamstring injury sustained while playing for Uruguay.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Araujo is set to sign a new contract with Barcelona this week, after receiving approval from his agent last week to renew the deal.
Romano also pointed out that Pedri, Gavi, Gerard Martin, and Lamine Yamal are all ready to sign new contracts with Barcelona.
Araujo has appeared in 5 matches for Barcelona this season across various competitions, providing one assist.
Barcelona currently sits in third place in La Liga with 39 points, 7 points behind league leaders Real Madrid.
