iPhone 15 Pro Max Surpasses iPhone 14 Pro Max with a 96% Faster Download Speed

In the past year, the iPhone 14 Pro Max achieved remarkable numbers in internet data download speeds over cellular networks. Today, we explore how the iPhone 15 Pro Max remarkably outperforms its predecessor, as revealed in Ookla's preliminary report showcasing the performance of the iPhone 15 Pro Max in terms of cellular connectivity speeds, boasting a nearly 100% improvement.

Ookla presents a recent report on mobile device performance, comparing major telecom companies in the United States regarding download and upload speeds, stability, availability, and other connectivity-related factors.

The report includes a ranking of the most popular smartphones in the United States during the third quarter of 2023 based on download and upload speeds, as well as response time.

Last autumn, the iPhone 14 Pro Max claimed the title of fastest in cellular speeds, but it relinquished this title in the fourth and first quarters of 2023.

Considering smartphone performance based on download speed in the third quarter of 2023, the report demonstrates that the iPhone 15 Pro Max overwhelmingly outperforms all other phones with an average download speed of 251.37 megabits per second, representing an increase of nearly 10% from the previous release, the 15 Pro.

This means that the iPhone 15 Pro Max delivered an astounding download speed that is nearly 96.6% faster compared to the performance of the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which recorded an average download speed of 127.83 megabits per second in the second quarter of this year.

Last year, the highest recorded download speed measured by Ookla for the iPhone 14 Pro Max was 147 megabits per second, a figure that dropped to 127 megabits per second in the second quarter of this year.

An intriguing note is that the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus models were not listed in Ookla's chart for maximum download speeds, despite both utilizing the same Qualcomm X70 modem as the 15 Pro/Max models. There might be another explanation for this discrepancy, potentially related to the integration of the modem with the A16 Bionic and A17 Pro chips or other factors.
