Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi reaffirmed his country’s full support for efforts aimed at achieving national consensus in Somalia, praising the endeavors of Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud to foster unity within Somali society.
The remarks came during a joint press conference held in Cairo on Monday, where the two leaders discussed bilateral relations in light of the political declaration signed earlier in January, and explored ways to enhance cooperation across various fields.
President El-Sisi stated: “We discussed bilateral and regional issues, including developments in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea region. We emphasized the importance of coordinating efforts to maintain regional security and stability.”
For his part, President Mohamud expressed appreciation for Egypt’s continuous support for Somalia at all levels, highlighting the significance of joint coordination in addressing regional challenges.
