U.S. President-elect Donald Trump is preparing more than 100 executive orders to be implemented starting on his first day in the White House, amounting to a campaign of shock and awe regarding border security, deportations, and a range of other policy priorities.
Trump informed Republican senators about this strong start during a private meeting on Capitol Hill.
Many of these actions are expected to be launched on his inauguration day, January 20.
Trump’s senior advisor, Stephen Miller, outlined for Republican senators a series of border security measures and immigration enforcement actions expected to begin soon.
“There will be a large number,” said Senator John Hoeven, a Republican from North Dakota.
Allies of the president-elect have been preparing a set of executive orders that Trump could quickly sign, covering a wide range of issues. These include his campaign promises on the U.S.-Mexico border, energy development, federal workforce regulations, gender policies in schools, vaccine mandates, and other pledges he made regarding his first day in office.
