Santos Brazil Seeks a Way to Finalize Neymar Deal

Santos FC of Brazil continues to search for additional funding sources to secure the transfer of Neymar Jr. from Saudi club Al-Hilal during the current winter transfer window.

The Brazilian club has developed an ambitious marketing plan to fund Neymar's signing amid doubts about his continued tenure with Al-Hilal due to his recurring injuries, which have sidelined him for extended periods.

Santos recently announced its desire to bring Neymar Jr. back to the team after many years since his departure.

According to the Brazilian outlet "Globo," Santos is working intensively to sign Neymar on a six-month loan deal, a costly move that the club may struggle to afford.

The report emphasized that the high costs associated with the deal, which remain undisclosed, are not limited to Neymar's salary but also include other benefits like image rights.

It added that Santos' management is currently seeking new sponsors and commercial partners to cover a significant portion of the deal's expenses.

Neymar began his football career at Santos' academy, progressing to the first team in 2009 before moving to Barcelona in 2013 and then to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017.

Neymar transferred to Al-Hilal from PSG in the summer of 2023 for €90 million but has only played three Saudi Pro League matches so far.

Overall, the 32-year-old Brazilian star has appeared in seven games for Al-Hilal across various competitions, scoring just one goal.
