Microsoft plans to expand its strategy of releasing its games on competing platforms, including PlayStation 5, by 2025. According to recent reports, this plan is expected to include the release of popular titles such as "Gears of War: Ultimate Edition," "Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II," and "Age of Mythology: Retold" on PS5.
In 2024, Microsoft began offering several of its games on other platforms, including "Sea of Thieves," "Grounded," "Hi-Fi Rush," and "Pentiment." By 2025, this approach is expected to continue with the release of new games like "DOOM The Dark Ages" and "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle" on PS5.
Through this strategy, Microsoft aims to increase its revenue and offset the significant costs associated with recent acquisitions, notably the $69 billion Activision Blizzard deal. It is believed that releasing its games on various platforms will help the company achieve these goals.
However, some analysts believe that Microsoft will not make all of its exclusive games available on PS5. Media personality Jez Corden clarified that the company will not release all of its exclusive titles on competing platforms, with notable exceptions like "Call of Duty" and "Minecraft" remaining multi-platform.
This move is part of Microsoft's broader strategy to strengthen its presence in the gaming industry and expand its fan base by making its games available on multiple platforms.
