Carlo Ancelotti: Winning against Red Bull Salzburg is Extremely Important

Italian Carlo Ancelotti, head coach of Real Madrid, emphasized the importance of securing a win in tomorrow's (Wednesday) match against Austrian team Red Bull Salzburg, which will take place at the "Santiago Bernabéu" stadium. The match is part of the penultimate round in the Champions League group stage. Ancelotti also stressed that he has not decided to leave the team.

Ancelotti said in the press conference: "The match is very important because there is not much left until the group stage ends. It’s time to give everything we can and see what happens. Tomorrow is vital. We will try to play well, as we did against Las Palmas."

Regarding his team’s chances of qualifying in the top 8, the Italian coach said: "There aren't many options, but the only option is to win the remaining two matches. If we have to play the round of 32, we will do so 100%. Considering that the schedule will be more demanding, but we are used to it."

When asked if he feels underappreciated considering his achievements, he replied: "I don't think so. I feel very loved in every way: by the fans, the club, the media, everyone. Sometimes it’s a bit exaggerated, but as I said the other day, I want to be completely objective."

On whether he has made the decision to leave Real Madrid, he said: "I want to be very clear, I will never decide when to leave this club. One day that moment will come, but I don’t know when it will be. It’s not up to me to make that decision. It could be tomorrow, after a few matches, a year from now, or five years from now."

Real Madrid is currently ranked 20th in the Champions League standings with 9 points, while Salzburg is in 32nd place with only 3 points.

Real Madrid leads the Spanish La Liga standings this season with 46 points, two points ahead of second-place Atlético Madrid, which has 44 points.
