Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti has denied rumors about his departure from Real Madrid at the end of the season, affirming that he will remain in his position as long as the club wants him to continue.
Spanish media reports suggested that the Italian coach, whose contract with Real Madrid runs until 2026, had decided to leave the Santiago Bernabéu next summer.
However, Ancelotti, who is in his second tenure with the club and extended his contract in December 2023, has been linked to the Brazil national team job. He dismissed these speculations while preparing Real Madrid for their Champions League clash against Austria's Red Bull Salzburg on Wednesday.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, the 65-year-old said:
"Leaving Real Madrid? No, I want to make it clear: I will never set a date for my departure from this club. I will never do that in my life."
As quoted by the British news agency PA Media, Ancelotti added:
"One day, that moment will come, but I don’t know when it will be. The decision is not in my hands; it could be after the next match, tomorrow, in a year, or in five years."
The Italian coach explained further:
"My plan is to stay here with President Florentino Pérez for the next four years. Let’s see if we can bid farewell together, with all the love in the world."
