On Tuesday evening, Spanish team Barcelona eliminated their Italian counterpart Napoli from the UEFA Champions League after securing a 3-1 victory.
Barcelona hosted Napoli at the Montjuïc Stadium in the second leg of the round of 16 of the Champions League.
The first half ended with Barcelona leading Napoli 2-1. The Catalan team managed to find the back of the net twice within the first quarter of an hour, with youngster Firmin López opening the scoring in the 15th minute assisted by Rafinha.
Rafinha attempted to double the lead in the 17th minute, but his shot hit the crossbar. Portuguese player João Cancelo then scored the second goal in the same minute.
In the 30th minute, Amîr Rahmâni narrowed the gap for Napoli, before Polish striker Robert Lewandowski sealed the deal with the third goal in the second half, precisely in the 83rd minute assisted by Sergi Roberto.
With this result, Barcelona advanced to the quarterfinals of the Champions League at the expense of Napoli, after winning on aggregate 4-2, following a 1-1 draw in the first leg at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
