Rodri Hernandez: Our Goal is to Win the Euro

Rodri Hernandez, the Spanish midfielder, has affirmed that his country's national team is aiming to clinch the title of the UEFA European Championship (Euro 2024) in Germany. He emphasized that all the players have set this goal as their focal point, following the success of this generation in winning the UEFA Nations League title after an 11-year trophy drought.

Speaking on Tuesday during his participation in a national team promotional campaign, Rodri stated, "Everything related to winning a title with the national team is like a dream for me. This is what happened with the Nations League, but this group is aspiring for more, aiming to win the Euro, and I have complete confidence in our ability to achieve this goal."

He added, "We haven't won this title in years, so we must enter the tournament with all the necessary humility to realize that we need to exert more effort than everyone else to win. However, there is a team and an ambition to accomplish this feat. I like setting short-term goals, and our next goal is to win the UEFA Euro."

The Spanish national team is preparing to conclude its journey in the Euro qualifying matches with fixtures against Cyprus on Thursday in Larnaca, followed by a match against Georgia in Spain a few days later.

"La Roja" secured its place in the Euro finals next summer in Germany during the last international break, with consecutive victories over Scotland (2-0) and Norway (0-1). They currently lead Group 1 with 15 points, edging ahead of Scotland on goal difference.
