Oppo Unveils the Oppo A79 5G Smartphone


Chinese tech giant Oppo has officially unveiled its latest smartphone, the Oppo A79, which supports 5G networks. This phone falls under Oppo's budget-friendly range of devices.



The Oppo A79 boasts a 6.7-inch display with a +FHD IPS LCD panel, offering a refresh rate of up to 90Hz and a brightness level reaching 680 nits.


Under the hood, the phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6020 processor, built on a 7-nanometer process, clocking in at 2.2 gigahertz. It comes with 8 gigabytes of LPDDR4x RAM and an internal storage capacity of 128 gigabytes using UFS 2.2 technology. The phone runs on Android 13, paired with the ColorOS 13.1 interface.


The rear camera setup on the Oppo A79 5G includes two lenses: a primary 50-megapixel sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, and a 2-megapixel lens dedicated to portrait shots. The front camera features an 8-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture.


Powering the device is a 5000mAh battery, accompanied by a 33-watt fast charger, enabling half of the battery to be charged in just 30 minutes. The phone is equipped with stereo speakers and boasts an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance. Additionally, it incorporates an integrated fingerprint sensor within the power button.


The Oppo A79 5G is available in green and black color options, retailing at a price of $250 USD. The phone has already been launched in the Indian market, and it is expected to be available in more markets in the near future.
