Meta Company Aims to Transform Threads into a Public Chat Platform

Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, has clarified that Meta intends to convert the Threads application into an online platform for public conversations. This aspiration comes in response to a question about the success of the Threads application over the past year, emphasizing the importance of its transformation into a platform for public conversations rather than just an ordinary app.

Mosseri affirmed that Threads is not currently the leading platform for public conversations, pointing out the competition from X. However, he believes they have the opportunity to surpass X in the long run.

Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta Company, announced that the Threads application has fewer than 100 million monthly active users.

Mosseri is working on enhancing the user experience of Threads on a weekly basis, adding features such as polls, animated images, and a free editing button.

There is also a focus on improving the user experience through mobile applications on Android and iOS, while the team is required to develop the web version.

Mosseri is also exploring ways to enhance integration between the teams at Threads and Instagram.

Finally, the development of the Threads application programming interface (API) is underway, allowing developers the opportunity to create various applications around the Meta application. Mosseri expresses concerns about media organizations favoring specific content at the expense of creators.
