Sesame Pastry: A Quick Recipe in Less Than 10 Minutes

There's nothing quite like the aroma of freshly baked pastries, especially when paired with a cup of tea or milk for a light breakfast. Many seek the easiest way to prepare quick pastries of various types and flavors, especially if they can be made with simple ingredients already in your kitchen. Today, Chef Fatima Abdel-Moneim shares a recipe for sesame pastry that can be prepared in less than 10 minutes.

Ingredients:

- 5 cups of flour

- 3 tablespoons of oil

- 3 tablespoons of sugar

- 1/2 teaspoon of salt

- 3 tablespoons of powdered milk

- 1 tablespoon of vinegar

- 2 tablespoons of yeast

- 1 1/2 cups of warm water

- For brushing: 1 egg yolk with 1 tablespoon of vinegar

Instructions:

1. In a large bowl, combine the yeast, sugar, one cup of flour, and one and a half cups of warm water. Stir well and let it ferment for ten minutes.

2. After ten minutes, add the remaining ingredients: oil, salt, vinegar, powdered milk, and four cups of flour. Knead the mixture thoroughly and let it ferment for an hour.

3. Roll out the dough on a marble surface and cut it into circular shapes using a biscuit cutter. Cut from the center to give it a donut-like shape.

4. Place them on a baking sheet and brush the tops with the egg yolk and vinegar mixture.

5. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top and bake in the oven until they turn golden brown. After taking them out, cover them for about 5-7 minutes to allow the surface to moisten.

Serve in the morning with either milk tea or plain tea.
