The social media account of Donald Trump's son on the platform "X" was breached, leading to the dissemination of false messages about the former American president's demise, along with various vulgarities, according to CNN.
Half an hour after its posting, the purported death announcement of the former American leader remained unremoved, garnering numerous comments from users who did not doubt its falsified nature.
The unidentified hackers who gained control of the account also claimed on behalf of Trump Jr. his intention to run for the U.S. presidency in 2024.
Although the posts have now been deleted, they managed to accumulate a significant number of user comments.
Later, Trump reassured his well-being by posting on his social network "Truth Social," in which he criticized the current U.S. President Joe Biden's speech at the United Nations General Assembly.
