China Accuses the United States of Hacking Huawei Servers Since 2009

The Chinese government has declared today that American forces have been infiltrating the servers of the Chinese tech giant, Huawei, since 2009, marking another chapter in the deteriorating relations between the two powers in the realms of trade and technology.

In a post on its official Wechat account, the State Security Ministry affirms that the U.S. National Security Agency's Office of Tailored Access Operations began infiltrating Huawei networks in that year to conduct "continuous monitoring" of the company.

While the ministry did not provide further details about the alleged espionage on Huawei, it pointed out that U.S. entities employ "sophisticated devices" to execute "electronic and espionage attacks" directed at "45 countries worldwide, including China and Russia."

Furthermore, America is accused of "compelling its companies to cooperate," and for this purpose, it has "implemented backdoors in the devices, software, and applications of technology companies," as per the ministry's statement.

Thus, through the influence of its affiliated technology companies, the United States "exercises control and conducts global data theft," affirms the organization.

The Chinese ministry also emphasized that the cyberspace has become an increasingly new battleground for safeguarding national security.

Moreover, it asserted that without cybersecurity, there is "no national security, and no stable performance for the economy and society."

In recent years, Washington and Beijing have witnessed bitter disputes in the technological field due to the alleged military ties of the aforementioned Huawei company, the international growth of Chinese mobile applications like TikTok, and Chinese companies' access to American technology.

Recently, China denied using the veto right against the purchase or use of iPhones by officials and employees in state-owned companies, but it noted that it had "taken note of reports from various media outlets indicating security issues" in American mobile phones.
